Our Curriculum & Class Schedules

Our 6 - 8 year old classes are designed with the younger artist in mind. Students work in a variety of mediums including pastel, watercolor, tempera paint, collage and magic marker. Lessons include the color wheel with warm & cool paintings, working in the style of a selected artist, cartooning, underwater scenes with collage & paint as well as a variety of other projects. All classes are 1 hr. in length and limited to 14 students with 2 instructors.

2008 Summer 6 to 8 class schedule - Classes will be held in two four week sessions. Each session will include 8 classes. Classes will be held twice a week on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. Fee for each session is $145.00. This includes all materials. Our first session begins June 24 and ends July 17. Our second session begins July 22 and ends August 14. You may enroll your child for one or both sessions.

Classes for ages 8 through high school are designed to meet the needs of beginners as well as advanced students. Beginning students work primarily in charcoal & pastel as an introduction to realism. Our focus is getting students to see objects with light, shadow, form and color. Advanced students may work in a variety of mediums including pastel, charcoal, graphite, watercolor, oils & acrylics. We also offer portfolio preparation for magnet schools, high schools and colleges. Classes are 1 hr. 45 min. in length and limited to 14 students.

2008 Summer schedule for ages 8 & older - Classes will begin Friday, June 20 and end Friday, August 22. This semester includes 9 classes and one holiday to be held July 4. Fee for the course is $190.00. (Supplies for beginners are an additional $40.00). Students who are presently enrolled in our classes and wish to sign up for the summer semester must contact our studio by May 16. After that date, classes will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

Adult classes are designed to meet the individual needs of students of all levels. Beginners usually draw from still life set ups working in charcoal . Students advance at their own pace and may move into pastel, graphite, watercolor, oils and acrylics. Students who have had previous instruction are encouraged to continue exploring the medium of their choice. Classes are 2 hr. in length and limited to 14 students.
